The speaker will be Nancy Skinner, Assembly Member representing 14th District, who will address the California State Budget and the impact on the budget of the outcome of the May 19 Special Election.

Blake Garden is a botanical garden that serves as a teaching facility for the Department of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning of the UCB and is the site of the official residence of the UC President.

The garden includes over 1200 plant species laid out within a formal garden with reflecting pool, water garden, grotto, two-sided staircase, arboretum and views of the bay.

Dr. Robert Gould, of the Physicians for Social Responsibility, will discuss nuclear power plants from the points of view of public health, cost, and security. The PSR have analyzed these issues and raise questions about whether health and safety issues are being adequately considered as nuclear power is considered for our energy needs.
